Dutch Minister of Economy and Climate Policy Bas van ' t Wout has gone on leave for at least three months due to burnout. The government of the country has already wished him a speedy recovery, according to the agency's website.
Van Wout, 42, took over as Minister of Economy and Climate Policy last January. Prior to that, he was engaged in social policy and employment issues for six months.
During the vacation, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Steph Blok, will act as van Wout. At the same time, his position will be taken by the Minister of Foreign Trade Sigrid Kaag. Due to the heavy workload, van Wout was appointed another secretary: he will take responsibility for energy issues.
Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel went on a long vacation due to numerous bouts of trembling. For 28 days, she rested in the Alps. With her, Merkel took a book by the American writer Siri Hustvedt "The Trembling Woman", dedicated to the fight against uncontrolled bouts of trembling.
